Accessibility

Everyone should be able to read the menu, check the hours, and get in touch — whatever device or assistive technology you use. This site is built to meet the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2, Level AA, and it is scanned every night.

Something blocking you? Tell us

It gets fixed, and it shows us what our testing missed. Anything you can say helps — what you were trying to do, what happened instead, and which page. Nothing is required.

Change how this site reads

The accessibility button in the bottom-right corner of any page adjusts this site to suit you: bigger text, higher contrast or a dark theme, more spacing, underlined links, a more legible font, a larger cursor, less motion, calmer colors, or a reading guide. Your choices are saved on this device, and you can reset them at any time.

What’s built in

  • Every photo has a written description, so a screen reader can say what is in it.
  • You can use the whole site with a keyboard alone, and see where you are as you go.
  • With a screen reader you can jump straight to a heading, a section, or a link.
  • Text stays readable against whatever is behind it, including words set over a photo.
  • Dietary labels are spelled out in words, not signalled by color alone.
  • Zoom to 200% and nothing is cut off or stops working.

How we check, and what we found

The live site is scanned against WCAG 2.2 every night, and every page is walked with a keyboard alone before launch. A second, deeper check has also run on this site, testing things a rule-based scan cannot — whether keyboard focus stays visible, whether every control has a name a screen reader can read, and whether the heading structure holds together. This page is rebuilt from the most recent of each, so it shows the current state of the site rather than a snapshot from launch day.

July 5, 202636 nightly scans · all cleanAugust 9, 2026

The scan on August 9, 2026 found no issues across 9 pages. If you hit a barrier anyway, it is one our testing missed — please tell us and we will fix it.

The deeper check on August 9, 2026 also found:

  • Keyboard focus lands behind the sticky header, so you cannot see what is selected./r/bennys/accessibility

    element: "Skip to content"

We call this site partially conformant: built to the standard, with no unmet criteria we know of, but no independent audit of every success criterion. Automated checks cannot tell whether a photo’s description is actually useful, or whether a whole booking flow works with a screen reader — which is why hearing from you matters as much as the scan.
